Ableton Forum

Hi folks this is my first post so please dont bite...right i'll start at the beginning..i have recently purchased a roland fantom xa and a copy of ableton 5...The soundcard iam using is the audigy platinum ex..i basicaly want to record audio from the keyboard into ableton and jam and record to some loops i have but i cant seem to set this up right..i have a cable running from output 1&2 from the fantom into the line in 2 in the audigy..i go into prefrences and set up input outputs but when i try to record audio from the fantom iam also getting the sample sound into the same channel..am i just being a complete dick and not doing something really simple...any help would be well appreciated

It seems that the card is currently recording what is plugged into the card and what it itself is playing at that moment..Anyone know how to fix this
