CPU Charge

my CPU charge rises to 220 percent when i play a track; in the manual, it is shown that you can reduce it with thr RAM, but RAM is only available for samples, and i use instruments plug-ins.
i was told that RM Clock Utility can reduce the CPU charge, but how?i use Windows XP...thank you.

what instrument are you using that bumps cpu usage to 220% ? Does it do it with every vsti instrument? Sounds more like a bad plugin or something. I dont know what the RM Clock Utility is, but I doubt its your answer.

It would help a bit if you told us what kind of hardware you are on, what effects/instruments you are using etc.
But anyway: Turn your Power Profile to "Always On" if you are on a PC.

i should let my computer always running ?
yeah it does it with every instrument plugins, and samples.
if i play 1 instrument, then the CPU charge rises to 10? 15 percent, and if i play three or four tracks it rises to 220 percent...
and i use Windows XP.

sounds like your having non-live related issues with your computer. Mine is an amd uh, I dont acualy remember the number off the top of my head. Its under 3ghz for sure. I can run hundreds of effects and have had like 40 instruments going at the same time. Overall live seems pretty good about cpu usage, some seem to disagree. Either way, your problem seems to be coming from somewhere else. Any non-audio programs seem to run bad? Ever reinstall windows before? Do tend to install lots of programs you find on the internet? Maybe visit some shady sites that could have installed all kinds of crazy things while you weren't looking? You dont need a programmer, you may need to have your computer checked out somewhere though. Personly, when things go funny on my computer(s) the first thing I do is back up important stuff, format the drive, and reinstall windows. In a perfect world I would do it like at least once a month.

All I used to do was change the settings to perform better with programs than graphics.
I just opened up a track that was starting to crush my computer....and NOW???
......now the screen isn't even needing to freeze in the tight spots.
