I rendered an 11-minute track as an .aiff file and it's BIG. I want to email it to a friend ... any ways to get 117 MB down smaller?

I'm on a Mac using OS X 10.3.9, I have Ableton 5.0.3 ... iTunes ... Final Cut Express 2.0 ... any idea what I could use to compress this sucker?

or compress it using RAR.

Thanks for your assistance.

And interesting .... after GOOGLING "FLAC", I see it's only available for Windows.

I'm on a Mac.

Are there any "easier" ways to compress things with the programs I already have & mentioned??

VersionTracker is your friend, search there for FLAC clients for the Mac. They are out there.
Or just right-click on the file and select "Create Archive" - that makes a nice and handy zip file.

definatly an easy choice

you can change the bit rate to get it smaller when you convert to mp3
(if you need to get it under 10mb to mail it)

i like to use ichat to send files tho

FLAC format is the best choice for lossless becuase it is now, and will always be, available for all platforms.
