MOTU 828 and ASIO drivers with Live Lite 4

I already use Tracktion2 for the bulk of my audio recording and and editing. But I obtained a copy of Ableton Live Lite 4, and I thought it would be great to use that to set up some loops when I'm playing live. Here's my problem. I can't get my input (mic or direct guitar) to be recognized with the ASIO drivers. They are recognized when I use the DX/MME drivers, but I can't get the latency low enough for it to be useful live. I have the latest drivers from MOTU. Any help would be great. Oh yeah, I get the same problems when I tried the Live5 demo version. I also have Live Delta 2.1.2, and I can get the input recognized in that program, but I can't record and loop audio in session view with that version.
