AMD users, Which chipset/mobo for a DAW?

I was just curious as to what people are having luck with, as the last time I bought a computer AMD was a little sketchy due to certain chipsets vs soundcards. I would be running a firepod for the soundcard.
Thanks for the info.

Stick with any ASUS board and you should be fine. They're the most expensive boards, and for good reason.
As for most recent compatibility, I've heard that NVidia chipsets are very good. But it depends on which chip you're getting.
Also, if you're looking for dualcore, you should check
www.TomsHardware.com to see the tests on what will work best. Let us know what you end up getting.

ASUS boards were really good in the mid to late 90's, but I have had a couple flake out on me lately in weird ways that were just 2 years or less old;
they are more into business applications these days in my opinion.
I've had great luck with DFI and AMD. I would also recommend matching the chipset on your graphics card to the same as your mother board. There are a couple of options now.
Peace

You picked a good thread to make your first post

Welcome to the cult of Ableton.
As for your comments, I do agree about DFI, they also make very good boards that are performance (read overclocker) oriented. As for ASUS, they're still a standard from everything I've read. Also look into Abit and Gibabyte.
