This is proberly something of nowt.
When i try to drag a sound file across (Wav.) i get a "Failing to read `drumloop.wav`.Unreconized sound file type"
Now it`ll read the wav` file in the temp folder that comes with Ableton (this disco track) but i notice that it has a tick on the corner, which i presume is once the files been read in by ableton,But it won`t read any of my files in. Any thoughts ?

yesterday all was great

today i'm experiencing same situation as you describe and then some.
like; random aiff files will not read even from the finder window.

also today, when opening the live session i was working on last night, i get an error message saying that the live session was made with a newer version that doesn't recognize the other, even though i was using live 5.0.2 on a powerbook G4 1.5 running 10.4.4.

i just upgraded to 5.0.3 but the same situation persists.

i am stuck! this is a major problem that has to be addressed immediately!!!!!!!!

is this data loss recoverable

ableton, please help

the tic is when live has analyzed the file and created the .asd file which i presume is for drawing the waveform + determining the files bpm...

what platform are u experiencing this on?
what sample rate / bit rate?

there has been a few posts about glitches with .wav format on mac, so maybe try converting them to .aiff.

also (if ur on mac), qt 7.04 was a dodgy update which for some users has caused loss of ability to open certain files and other glitches... there is a downgrader on apple.com/support but its for mac only, so pc are stuck with it!

i`m on a PC and i`ve been informed its cos i`m running ableton 4 and i`d run the demo of A 5,anything that was used in the 5 demo now won`t run on 4 unless i get rid of the little file that ticks the orignal wav... (did`nt realise running the 5 demo would do this !!! . i have another question about Ableton 4 and 5 but will post it in a new thread !!
