anybody know why Live isn't actually closing on quit (XP)?

When I quit the program, it disappears from the screen, but is still in the process list of the task manager. I tried manually killing it there but it didn't die, it just stayed there and seemed to get stronger, then started pulsating. This is a pain because I can't launch it again, and also I can't touch files which it had open. I'm running Live 5.0.3 on a windows XP machine with 2.0 ghz processor and 1 gig RAM, the program runs fine so far in actual use but there is this weird problem. Was using Kontakt 2 and a trigger finger USB during the session. Any ideas?

Yep, this happens to me too.
Very annoying.

Chances are that you have some plugins that are broken or got damaged...
Had that in Live 4, until I cleared out all unused crap from my VST folders.

This is very consistant with me. 5.03 seemed better but I went back to 5.02 because of it's major design flaw. I had complained about it and they said that it was a bad install. I still had it after I did a full uninstall and did a clean install. I had even installed a new OS to no avail. A lot of times it will not quit even when end tasking and requires a reboot.

I have had this happen with crappy midi controller drivers. For instance, version 1.04 of the CME drivers would cause this. I rolled back to version 1.03, problem goes away. Go back to 1.04, I am back in hell.

Two major things cause this all the time for me:
1. Running anything that uses pluggo hangs on a dll called "Maxplug" i.e. Tritone products
2. Midi controllers. As soon as i unplug my O2 or trigger finger, Live closes
It's pretty annoying I agree...
