Slightly OT: Lemur - Mackie Control Emulation
Posted: Mon Feb 20, 2006 2:47 pm
hi there,
here is a first alpha release of mcu emulation for the lemur (http://www.amorat.ch/services/lemur).
as there is no feedback-possiblity for MIDI at the moment it's not
too usefull,
but even though a proof of concept
the implementation as used in
live is
descriped in chapter 22 of the live manual! you can see a screenshot
of the
prefs at the above location.
problems:
-I had to use single pads instead of a row of pads because I haven'
found a
solution howto know, which button of a row has just been released.
any help???
-this patch uses 80% memory. ...and I had the intention to have four
emulations
running at the same time plus some freaky additional screens only
possible with the lemur
-during the design, the lemur hung several times and sometimes
rebooted by itself, scary....
-the monitor object reloads in a different size, when saved with
height "24" or below.
Status:
-the JogWheel is implemented as SceneUp/SceneDown-Button
-the function-keys are not implemented, as they are not used in the
standard
implemantation by ableton
-the main-faders don't send note-on messages before sending any pitch-
bend
information and note off when releasing a fader. I don't know how to
do this
at the moment. they send note on/off on channel 1 note 104-112 values
127/0.
-the rotary encoders are not implemented.
I'd be very happy if somebody could help my with this: the rotary sends
CC on Channel 1, Controls 16-23, Value 1 on right spin, Value 65
onleft spin per tick.
so it sends always the same msg again and again with each "rotary-click"
I was thinking of an implementation as a fader as well.
------------------------------
obviously there is no feedback. there are two solutions for this:
1) use osc.
2) wait till release 1.4, there are the following messages which have
we need:
a) Note On/Off for the LEDS
b1) First row of lcd display is SYSEX:
00 F0 00 00 66 14 12 00 53 65 6E 64 20 41 20 53 65 | f Send A Se|
10 6E 64 20 42 20 20 20 20 20 20 20 20 20 20 20 20 |nd B |
20 20 20 20 20 20 20 20 20 20 20 20 20 20 20 20 20 | |
30 20 20 20 20 20 20 20 20 20 20 20 20 20 20 20 F7 | |
b2) Second row of lcd display is SYSEX:
00 F0 00 00 66 14 12 38 4D 78 2F 4D 53 50 20 45 78 | f 8Mx/MSP Ex|
10 74 2E 49 6E 20 45 78 74 2E 49 6E 20 45 78 74 2E |t.In Ext.In Ext.|
20 49 6E 20 45 78 74 2E 49 6E 20 45 78 74 2E 49 6E |In Ext.In Ext.In|
30 20 45 78 74 2E 49 6E 20 45 78 74 3A 41 6C 20 F7 | Ext.In Ext:Al |
So there it would be nice to have a monitor which could be fed by
a substring cut from character 7 to 63
c) CC Continous Controls for the LED-Rings:
CC on Channel 1, Controls 48-55, Values 17..27 for Pannerstyle,
Values 33..43
for Volumestyle, 0 for no LED burning
d) the 7-Segment "Assignment" is done by CC on Channel 1, Controls
64-75,
there it would be nice to have a table which translates to
characters,
or even better a special implementation of a 7-Segment-Display
so I anyone would like to contribute and help, it' welcome at most
