I put together a web site where we can share files/templates

Post by fn0000rd » Tue Feb 21, 2006 9:39 pm

Since there appears to be no way for us to share files here on the Ableton forums, I threw together a web site where we can.

There's still work to be done, but at the moment the file sharing stuff is in place, and I'm working on a mod whereby each of us can have our own home page, with some examples of our music in mp3 format for download, and pictures, and whatever else people feel like sharing.

If you have any ideas or any complaints or any problems or whatever, let me know. It'd be cool if we could build our own community.

http://live.raketemensch.com

If we really do start to use it, I'll register a proper domain name and stuff. Any suggestions?

I'm in.
My daydream for a Live site would be to have a forum like http://perlmonks.org where you get to rate posts.
Users have levels and differing ablities.
Makes it much more fun & useful than a normal forum.

How you planning on paying your bandwidth bill?

What bandwidth bill? I'm in a unique position where I have a server set up on some massive pipe that I don't have to pay for.

The server itself isn't a powerhouse, but for some simple php/mysql, it's more than enough.

I like the idea of sharing templates. I'm always changin mine in an attempt to find the most practicable one for me (which is not for you I presume). Good work. Please add template files.

Well, so far I have categories for Templates, Simpler, Operator and Impulse files.

I'm thinking of adding a category for samples, do people out there have samples that they'd like to share?

I'm also going to add a forum category for requests, so people can ask for temples for specific things...

I've also just added a section to the forums for DJs, as well as a section in the files area for sharing samples.

I've got some drum kits that I'd to share... i'll make em into Impulse kits. Do you have room for that kind of thing?

Yup, file space isn't an issue, and I'd definitely like to see some kits up there. There's a category for Impulse just waiting for you.

Thank you, thank you, thank you... I was going to resort to an OSX forum, at least they have a sticky for the 'List O Tips 'N RTricks' (AKA 'all I ever wanted to know about Ableton Live but was too stupid to ask').

I grabbed a Novation SL (25) early on, when Live Automap comes online, that topic willl pop up. I might even get off my ass and post the templates I've been brewing up.

Samples... definitely. Should be Live-specific sample together with Simpler, Impulse, Liveclip or .als file.

Can we have a section for uitilities so I can stick my browser hotkeys there?
