trilogy sounds great.....of course some day in the future you can sample your own bass sound sources, but for the price you do get a bargain..

trilogy is great. done some awesome stuff with it.
have an andromeda now, so trilogy iskinda moot for me, but if i were to use anything by the A6 for bass, it would be trilogy.

i cant imagine anything better for bass regarding electronic/hip hop. Even if you were to play the bass youd then have to mess around with recording it well. Personally i play the bass, but having the ability to just change a patch/instrument and keep the same notes is amazing. I wouldnt recommend it for indie rock or something like that, but if you want a smooth clean sound to stand out in your mixes then id get it.

i use trilogy all the time. its got some truly inspiring sounds on offer within the core library. with the array of acoustic, electric and synth bass samples on offer, you really cannot go wrong.
for the more complex melody structures, you can also make use of some true staccato patches to add some realism to your bass.
i like how you're able to morph the sounds of two completely different bass sounds, and modulate them to your hearts content.
definately one of the better bass modules out there. but in an ideal world, you'd still want the control of programming your own bass patches.

FYI I have Operator, Reaktor, Kontakt, Albino and Oddity <--- all soft plugs so I don't know
The spectrasonics stuff looks hot but the price is like...

Really awesome upright bass in there. Since you're not likely to ever own an upright bass, that right there makes it rocksteady.

trilogy is a bass module, consisting -mostly- of real-life bass acoustic instruments, all those synths you mention are synths...not acoustic instruments.....so if you want acoustic (mostly) bass sounds, it is the bomb. But seeing as you used those synths as a comparison I assume you didnt know this...hope this helps

It also has a ton of awesome synth basses, allthough they mostly focus on the real bass sounds, you won't run out of synth bass sounds anytime soon.
