Ok, at the risk of starting yet another softsynth thread... I loaded up a newly purchased impOSCar last night and...wow!!! It sounds phenomenal. I threw on some CamleSpace and couldn't believe my ears.
Man, I can see this finding its way into a lot of my tracks. Anyway, it's got to be one of the best software bargains out there (around $100 USD street). Relatively low CPU usage too.
Anyway, I had to share...

impOSCar is great, but for me the freakin' king has to be Crystal, it's even FREE !!!

, yupp, that's my reaction about it... it's really FREE , a lttle CPU hog, thou... but the sound and tweakability... pays back!!!

i got it for Xmas but haven't installed it yet, because I'm currently migrating to Mactel.
Anyone know if we're likely to ever see a mactel-compatible version of this?
Otherwise, I can't really use it.

If GMedia for some reason decided not to support Macintel machines then I simply would not upgrade. I'd keep my G5 as long as I could just to run ImpOSCar and Oddity. They are that important to me. I can claim olds school on these cuz' I've had them since they were not cheap, and not availble at most retailers. The preset management is crap though, as well as standalone version. They really could use a minor upgrade.

I really used to love this vst too. I bought it when I was using Cubase some time ago, but under Live I can't seem to figure out how to change the library bank- I've been diggin' around the support pages at gmediamusic.com. But I can't find anything about this subject. Now I don't know, but I can't help thinking I'm the dork here. The solution is probably right in front of me... But I can't see it. Anyone?
Edit: uh yaerh, I'm on a 17" PB, OSX 10.4.4, Live 5.x

Useually you can just look in the folder where the vst is to see how the preset banks are structured, looking for files with names you recognize (Same as banknames/Presetnames) then drop new preset/bank files in that folder using the same structure.
