I've a Novation Bass Station (an analog midi synth), can I send and receive midi in Live 5?
I've tried to set the "midi from" and the "midi to" correctly and the signal arrive to Live, but there isn't no sound!

Thank you

Yes, you can send and recieve midi in Live 5!

Did you put an midi instrument ( e.g. operator ) on your midi track? Because if you don't, there is nothing the sound can come from!

Eeehh...

...but he was talking about a hardware synth. :?

Lucaz, welcome! Yes it's possible. Definitely! Hook up your synth to midi ins and outs of your interface (in my case Midisport 4x4). In Live set midi out to (for example) Midisport out A - now you can play your Basstation from within Live.

By the way - it's all in the manual! :D

Mikael

Yeah... and turn on the mixer and make sure you have the mixer connected to a pair of speakers.

so Lucaz, does it work?

If there's still a problem you might wanna google a bit about Bassstion and MIDI cause I heard there's this litle tricky thing going on. Supposedly you need to set the midi in channel AND the midi out channel to the same channel on your b station. most people would think the midi is broken, but it's not ... so anyways. check it out

Really thank you! Now it works (really well...). I Forgot only to connect the audio cable of the synth to the in of my sound card (after i hear the sound from an Audio clip with "ext. in"). Is great!

Thank you!
