hi - i recently switched from pc to mac and now i can't use live & logic the way i used it before because live doesn't support rewire slave functionality w/ OSX... i wouldn't really be a problem to use OS9 but those new macs don't support it anymore... :-(

when can we expect an update for live/osx? is there also anything planned like altivec support since live for mac is so lack of performance compared to pc?

thanks

Hi kuni,

concerning the next update I just can say what said several times before, we're working on an update but I cannot provide you with a date. I also cannot say when ReWire slave functionality for OS X will be released.

The reason why Live cannot run as ReWire slave under OS X is also not because we don't want it. It's because there are several technical issues we have to solve. Some of them are OS X related, some other Live related. If you count how many applications exist running as ReWire slave under OS X (I know just Propellerheads Reason) but how many as ReWire master (Logic, Cubase, DP, Bidule, Live,...), it gives you a good indication that ReWire slave functionality is not implemented in some days. But we have and want to do but it's not clear when it is ready to release.

Concerning the Altivec issue you'll find a lot of postings about if you make a search in this forum. This is also a point we want to do but as I also said several times before there are other steps we have to do first (which will also increase the performance) before Altivec makes any sense. But it's on the list of course.

regards,
Alex

Arturia Storm has a Rewire slave feature. The developers at Applied Acoustics are working Rewire slaving into Tassman. Some have managed to solve these issues as Storm, Tassman and Reason all run under OS X.
