Auto Scanning Directories

I am not sure if this is a bug or a setting that i need to change....but when i set ableton to scan some audio directories it starts to play some of the files while scanning them. This is really annoying. And i pray that this would not happen in a live situation!! Please let me know if this is something i am doing wrong or a setting that needs to be fixed/changed. I have the headphone monitor above music library turned off. Its no longer blue. Should it be blue?
