Looking for some opinions and comments on favorite reverb plugs. The one in Live just aint cuttin' it for me.

reason reverbs are cool...... altiverb [ for mac ] which i havent heard , you could try...
no1 can tell you taht .... its subjective for every1, id suggest you to down some reverbs [ trials/free/whatever] and try em, quess tahtd be the best way to find out.....

IK Multimedia has a new "CSR" Classic Studio Reverb plug. It is excellent as is all IK stuff IMHO.

All analog modeled, warm, ultra tweakable.

GUI works like classic hardware.

This probably won't help you much, but to answer the question my favourite is probably the Perfect Space convolution reverb that comes bundled with Sonar 5 PE. It is in VST format, which means I can also use it in my prefered host: Ableton Live

In terms of recommendations however, Perfect Space is based on the Voxengo Pristine Space reverb, which can be bought here:

Also I would recommend the (much cheaper) Sonitus fx: reverb (the DX version only of which also bundles with Sonar). It is very nice and can be bought as a VST version directly from here:

i second the notion that all kjaerhaus classic effects are so worth downloading.

as for reverbs, i love em all... the shittier the better. .. not using fantastic reverb plugins has made me learn how to create space in so many different ways and use reverb more as an 'effect' than the cliche ways i used to use the verb.

learning to not use reverb is one of the best things that happened to me in my productions over the last few years.

I'm liking the demo of Wizooverb W2, may pick it up.

But I must say I do like Live's built-in reverb for some tasks. The "Freeze Verb" patch is very useful in some projects.

Never liked convolution reverbs, can't hardly tweak them or they will sound bad, so everytime you need a verb to fit you have to spend hours browsing for the perfect conv. sample, ugh.

I have spent lots and lots of time checking out just about all the reverb plugins I could find and so far I haven't found anything that beats Arts Acoustic Reverb, it sounds amazing and it's light on the cpu to.

-wizooerb W2 & W5

I've used TONS of hardware and software reverbs and nearly all software reverbs sounded poor, IMHO. Except those mentioned.

Hardware is a completely different story. Most cheap hardware reverbs sound poor also. But almost any hardware lexicon reverb sounds great, same with eventide's. TC Electronic has some great stuff also...

if you have the option to go hardware, a lexicon mpx1 will sound better than any software and at $300'ish used on ebay. Deal if you ask me...

My fave by far is the Plate 140 on the UAD card.

I know this is OT but the Dubstation Delay by Audio Damage is friggin fantastic too.

But really what is reverb but a bunch of delays anyway.........

are the best plug-ins for PC. Minimal latency also.
The decent free reverbs are mentioned above.
How 'bout a Kurzweil Rumour (better than the Lexicon MPX1). Then you don't have to be concerned about CPU or latency.
Wizoo is very nice, but I believe does introduce some latency, no? Still not as good as the VST's I mentioned above.
