ive had this with b4 and b5.

i've managed to get a bluescreen. a direct reset. first with b4 whilst consolidating one wavefile, with a copy of itself. nothing new there, just a simple consolidate of a beat. instant bluescreen, reset.
upon reload after restarting, ableton crashes.

b5, i had worked on final finishing a rmx for about 30-45minutes without saving, and went to save, just in case, you know. bluescreen with something saying IRQ.


thankfully b4 and b5 havent given the previous (4 + 5.0.2 + 5.0.3) performance, i.e., sometimes upon loading a lot of wavefiles into a song, and saving the song, upon reload, some of the samples are either not read in (i use hi-q, and RAM - and the only way to get these samples to reload properly (and completely) is to edit them with a editor, and save a say 99% volume version of the wavefile and then ableton will load them properly), they are not read in, in such a way, that either you will hear the first half-beat, or first vowel of the wavefile, and then a loop, kind of like a buffer overrun, but THE BEST THING IS THAT THIS IS NORMALLY ACCOMPANIED BY WHITENOISE CRASHES AT FULL VOLUME. THIS IS UPON REPLAY OF A ON-DISK WAVEFILE.

i really hope 5.2 will coincide with the release of the novation automap.

Isn't that already possible? I thought i noticed the remote sl as an option in the MIDI prefs.
Under control surfaces....

oh, well, is it there already? ill know in 2-3 days hopefully.

Unrivalled control of Live 5 with the ReMOTE SL

The fourth on the list of Automap-supporting applications will be Ableton’s multipurpose sequencing and DJing software, Live 5. With Ableton’s software team working on the Automap closely alongside Novation’s, the ReMOTE SL is set to become one of the most integrated controllers on the market for Live.

With the huge amount of assignable controls on the SL, combined with its two gigantic LCD screens, controlling different areas of Live will be effortless. The communication between software and hardware is 2-way, with any updates on screen showing on the SL and vice versa. The SL’s Xpression pad and stick, totalling 6 assignable controllers, plus the 8 musically-responsive trigger pads and top of the range keyboard mean that the SL offers everything required to flawlessly control any area of the software. One button on the SL will be all that's required to switch between controlling each area, ensuring maximum efficiency with all the hard work taken out.

Also coming this month is the first stage of Automapping with Logic 7, as well as an update to Cubase SX 3. Both of these incorporate the mixer into the automatic mapping so that two buttons can be used to switch between controlling all areas of the session, with everything displayed clearly on the SL’s screens.
