Hi,
I have recently purchased Ableton 5 live and I'm now going through the tutorials and seting everything up stage but I am having problems in setting up Audio. (I am working on MME/DirectX, and have a sound blaster sound card). When I try to adjust the output buffer size, I can't seem to pick up any signal on the tracks meter? I have tried playing cd's etc... Am I not doing something? As I have followed the instructions time and time again and it doesn't seem to mention to do anything else? Any help would be greatfully recieved!!! Am itching to start working with it now!!!
Cheers
Amy

I have a SB too. Pls see if your output has not been switched to digital only.
Enable inputs and outputs in the corresponding Live section.
Cheers

Not a problem,
I'm referring to the Creative Soundblaster Live! (sorry for the pun but it's the real name) but should be valid for others as well (even though I'm not so sure...)
If you have installed the Creative software you should have Creative Mixer.
By launching Creative Mixer, pls note that under the volume slider should be a check box. This box if checked sends all output to spdif digital output, muting all analog outputs. If you did not install any creative software you still have access to the system mixer provided by XP. A self explaining icon should be available in the task bar, opening that will show the mixer. Play with that and youo will find a check box for digital output.
Regarding Live you already took the lesson about audio setup, so check in Options/Preferences/Audio Tab/Settings region/ there are two buttons, for input and output configuration. Press these button and make sure all inputs/outputs are enabled.
