Hi all,
Just wondering what those of you who have had a remote sl for a week or 2 now think of it?
Pros and cons?
Anyone know when Automap is coming for Live?

I been beta testing one for over two months now and its a great piece of kit, Pots could be higher quality but its not let me down once at all my gigs.
I strongly urge anyone to buy one 9 3/4 out of 10 from me

I'm loving mine, check for the other threads on this topic, it comes up every week.
No complaints working with it, assigning parameters, setting it up, the PC software works great, it's very well thought out.

I don't have one, but I'm hearing everyone talking about setting up parameters and templates and stuff. I thought the whole idea of it costing so much is because you supposedly never have to do that again......I don't get it?!

it's automapping, ableton hasn't released support for that yet, it looks like they will soon, but who knows.
the cost has nothing to do with that.
it's no big deal to assign midi to a device, I can't believe how lazy people can be. I would've purchased an SL25 w/o automapping, I mostly like it for the size, controls, and USB/battery power

Agreed. Plus, never buy something that comes attached to a promise if that promise is the main reason why you bought it.
I needed a compact MIDI controller with keys, encoders/pots, faders, lots of buttons, at least 8 trigger pads, a joystick, a touch pad, flexible MIDI routing, (and it came with Novation's virtual version of their bass station which isn't all that shabby)
it has 2 nice LCDs so you can stop having to memorize where the hell you assigned the Q on your filter or the rate of the LFO the grid on beat repeat etc etc..
It works great with Live, and the soon to be automapping feature will just be icing on the cake. I wish it looked as thin as most pictures make it appear to be (at that magical angle) and i wish it were metal, I would pay an extra for those two things. so I give it a 9/10 because those aren't even complaints and it packs a lot of controls in one unit.

It's gotten crappy reviews over all (I expected slobering and pure joy) from the mags. The big problem I keep reading is.....drumroll please

lack of ABLETON support!!!!!!!!! That is what I'm talking about, the waiting thing ain't workin' in my opinion.......isn't that what the auto map supposed to do?
Ok, hey, it really looks kickass to me persoanlly.......

well, I'll rephraze, I don't seem to be doing good communitcation lately.....
Instead of the "OH MY GOD, YOU GOTTA GET THIS" reviews I expected, it seems that there were more shortcommings than expected......once you dig deep.
Anyways.........enjoy the sl!
took the plunge

Took a trip to my local dealer who had a SL on show. 10 minutes of fiddling and I was heading home with one. Looks like it will do the job for me big time!
