Hi,
i've got a problem with live 5. When i open a live set and i start a beat, everything goes fine, till I engage another clip, it then sometimes hangs for a sec, so 1 sec of silence, and thens tarts the clip.. very irritating when playing live.. I've got delay compensation turned on.. I also see a peak for a milisec in the CPU meter, and i have the problem both with my m-audio ozone usb interface and with the built in audio.. Has someone got any ideas on fixing this problem?
greetings and thanks in advance,
Jesse//

Firstly you should use the latest version of live 5.03
Also you should check the beta and see if it is the same in that...

Hi, thanks for your reply.. I tried 5.0.3 but that didnt do the trick.. Then I tried the beta version and that did the trick I think, I need some further testing (trying it at a later time as well) to be sure about it.. What to do if the beta version is the one I need?!
greetz,

If you can, report the problem to
[email protected] with details for ableton so they can replicate the problem. Hopefully that will mean they can get it fixed before beta testing finishes.
I may have the same problem as well (Say I am playing a few clips back on different tracks, alot of the time when I click play on a clip in a different track it fires late even though I triggered it within plenty of time i.e the program isn't responding to input quick enough), for me this kinda takes the point out of live, but I am not sure this is the same problem you are having. If it is, let me know...
Anyhow like I said check the beta and if it still happens let the beta testers know, they are usually very helpful.

Hmm, that sounds somewhat like the same problem.. but then instead, all my clips are delayed and so the sound stops for a few secs.. I also experience this problem when ejecting CD's sometimes (ie when i'm djing live).. But that's prolly more something of Mac itself..

allright, i think i have a sort of workaround for the moment.. I put the buffer size in the preferences tot the maximum (output latency: 48 milisecs) and this seems to work.. havent tested it fully yet, but it seems to work at the moment.. still weird the beta can handle the standard buffer size (12 milisecs output latency)
I hope live will work with this setting, cuz else it would be a real bummer for the projects I use Live with..

Unfortuanately this doesn't work for me...
I have the buffer set to 1024 and have always had this problem with L5
I have sent beta information but not had any response yet
I am not holding my breath for a fix, usually if its reproducable they get back to you straight away. Could you send them some info too, maybe if they see its not only me with the problem it will help.
Cheers
