Okay, newby help needed:
I'm trying to get my head around using my FCB1010 foot controller to simply record guitar loops in Live. I've got both talking to each other and recording, no problem. The thing I don't understand how to do:

1) I've set the pressing of pedal button to trigger creation of clip in session view.
2) Clip gets created and is recording. I press button again and recording stops and playback of loop ensues.

How can I make the next depression of the controller button erase the clip and start over on a fresh recording with a fresh clip? Is this possible?

Also, if anyone has a really good guide on understanding MIDI messages and how they work with Live, I'd really like to know about it. The Live manual doesn't seem to be that informative in this regard, or at least I haven't been able to find what I'm looking for.

In the same boat mate.

Here's how I've done it so far:
Arm all the tracks needed for recording, set buttons to trigger 2 or 3 slots per track. Instead of deleting takes, just move to the next one.
This isn't ideal.. To delete parts midi needs to be mapped to keystrokes.. There's a thread here for the software:

Map a footswitch to the del or undo keystrokes.

There's also a thread somewhere (bookmarked on my home computer) about Mackie control - basically fixed midi cc's to control live - the fcb1010 can be programmed to send these particular cc's.. Could be usefull as keys such as the arrow keys can be controlled.
As for tips, it's pretty open ended, as you can map anything to anything (almost)

I'm putting a band together with live as my backing, and as I play guitar lots I need to get everything I got mapped up to use the fcb1010, so I'll be visiting here often!

FCB1010 seems t0 be very popular at the moment (as it's so cheap!), so everyone please share!!
