I've got a pair of Tannoy Reveals - they're flat response and I've no complaints. I've mixed and mastered 3 albums with them. I guess it depends what you want them for though.

Thanks for the replies.....

Uh, well actually it is these SGM's I need to know about.

They suck?

Never listened to Reveals, but some of the most musical monitors I have heard have been Tannoys. Particularly some enormous 15inch muthas in a pals studio, and then some rare powered units that I believe were a limited edition.

The rubber surrounds in my ancient JBLs have finally disintegrated, and the guy I asked about doing a repair job has these Tannoys. Anyway, will check 'em out.

They don't suck, but they are quite old.
how much $ is the offer for?
are they the SGM 12x's ?
Those make great midfields for larger control/mixing rooms, but would be a bit much for a smaller room.

my favorite of the Tannoy line right now is the Precision 8 Passives. Most transparent top end i've heard south of $4k. Not a hyped sound at all, all you hear is the truth.

Thanks Adam,

Still not sure what they are as I haven't seen them.

But if they are big, they won't suit me because my room here is very small.
I have enough low end probs as it is!

Cheers.

oops, the offer is for R$1000 which is about $250.

Probably a good deal for Brazil 8O

seeing as most stuff here is MASSIVLY overpriced - except of course your fee quotes........
