can you assign more memory to live in os x?

is it possible to reallocate more ram to live in os x, as you can some programs in os 9?

there is no need to worry about memory allocation in OSX. the OS handles it by itself. if the app needs more memory, OSX will automatically allocate it.

Live does not cache the files it accesses into memory, thus its memory footprint will be pretty low. In any case, you cannot directly manage memory allocation to applications in OS X -- a chunk of the kernel is dedicated to this.
What will help is a RAM disk utility that makes a virtual, HFS-formatted disk from a chunk of the system memory in your computer.
One example is Rambunctious. I've also written one for my own use, which I haven't updated in awhile and its interface is clumsy, but it works fine. If you'd like a copy, just send me your email address in a private message.
