i've been searching for a good sample cd or download but all i ever seem to find are loops.i've bought a few cd's only to end up using the one shots of drums and the rest of the discs were basically just a waist of money (for me at least).does anyone know where i can find what i'm looking for - mostly drums, bass guitars, & keyboard sounds, mybe even brass, strings etc...?im not looking to do trance,hip hop, house or anything like that, just realistic quality instument sounds.

Do they have to be in wave format or can you do with SF2?

EMU/Creative had a disk of useful samples for a pretty good price. 500 sounds for $19 or something like that here.

Of course to use them you need a sample player that can load soundfonts or a sample conversion program.

Doru Malia had great one shot cd's. But after his passing I am not sure if they are still available. http://www.dorumalaia2.com/ is a link to his site. You can still download free samples and maybe he left someone in charge of sales. He does have great cd's (all samples no loops) for great prices.
