i did some work on my Windows XP pc and saved (self-contained of course).

i then moved those files to my G5 Mac OSX 10.4.

i didn't have any problems at all. not sure what trouble you're having....

I've had exactly the same problem and I couldn't get to the bottom of it- as far as I was aware, Ableton is a cross platform application?

It is and should be. How are you transfering the files from the Mac to the PC?

Yes it seems it is possible then, the als i have from the mac doesnt contain ableton property extension in windows. I shall have a look at the mac saving procedure this weekend. Thanks for the replies all.I`ll post the outcome for any future enquiries.

Never had problems with Live files, but some files, often Quicktime files (in final cut or QTpro) the mac sometimes leaves out the file extension. As I said, I've never had this with Live files, and anyway if you force a windows program to open an extensionless file, 9/10 it will open..

In folder option on windaz, untick "hide extesions for known file types".. And make sure the live files have .als - if not, rename to make it so...

Hope this sorts you out!
