Hi everybody!

I 'am new here, and was searching for a topic were my question would match, but wasn't to sure, so I have opened a new one. Hope that's ok!

I will have my first live gig in front of a big audience pretty soon and will use Abelton live for it (of course - lol). I 'am searching now for the best solution regarding a propper Notebook. I will spend more or less about 1.500 Euro plus soundcard.
Most important of course is that the program is running smoth and fast.
To be honest I 'am really lost a bit, cos of so many alternatives and features etc.

I work as a professional producer and DJ so I have some experiance with the program running on a PC but not at a Notebook.

Is there anybody here who could give me some advice and help??

For example... dual core processor yes or no?... Ram size and speed?
specific harddisk specifications??

If u wonder why nobody has answerded yet: Theres a whole bunch of nice tips here ,which notebook u should get, for different amounts of money- possibly every second user asked this question in this forum - just use the search function.

Little hint from my side: if u decide to get double cpu, there will be a special support for this kind of gear with the release of live 6, so if u can afford it get one and enjoy all the power with the next live

I became user of new laptop with dual cpu last week.
In my case, Dual cpu make my works too great.
in same perfomance, more faster and safer.
mine is not intel-mac, window machine. : dual 1.8/ 2g ram.

I dont thinik Live can take advantage of a dual cpu or am I wrong?

Not directly yet, but at the very least it can keep any kind of background or system processes out of Live's way, which helps a lot.
