5.2B8 is killing my 5.2 high :(..B10 is happy :)

this is on my duel 1.8 G4 with 768 ram and digi 002r

so far all the beta's have been flawless on my system

b8 is showing live cpu on my current track at 40%, while activity monitor is clocking 100+
getting gui slowdowns and bad glitches at 256 ssamplees with 40% cpu
bumping sample buffer to 1024 still give glitches

the gui slow down is suprising me with the duel cpu system

Hello Mike,

That sounds really strange since the only difference between beta7 and beta8 are some bug fixes, and nothing major.
Are you using the exact same set ? Also, did you install or use any new third party plugin or hardware ?

I would advice first to test it with onboard soundcard if any, and then maybe to move temporarily your plugins to another folder and see how Live behaves. Then drag them back in the right folder like 5 by 5, restart Live and see if one of them creates problems.

hi

no new software.

But new hardware, a friend came over with his m-audio axiom 25,
but that was running fine with b7, however for b8 i hooked up my oxygen 8 as well.

BUT

trying to trouble shoot this i had a kernal panic, upon quiting live, after the restart b8 is smooth.

i didn't get a crash log with the kernal panic, but did get a crash with a log a couple minuets earlier.

EDIT: Trashed all the digidesign pref's as well today


seems like some funk ended up in my system

(this is on the digi 002 system) i havn't put the beta's on my latop yet.

ahhh 5.2b9 gave me all the headaches of 5.2b8


but 5.2b10 is running smooth!!
