I mean independent mutes for each voice, ie bass / snare etc.......

you can achieve it either by creating an audio track for each slot (see manual for this), or by putting a "scale" device with some deactivated notes corresponding to the slots you want to mute. then assign your midi buttons to the on/off switch of the scale devices.

but ok, i agree with you it would be easier to assign the mute buttons. these are just workarounds.

yeah, i miss this one as well. i wonder why this very basic function isnt implemented. it sucks to create 7 extra channels for different reasons. i.e. when i need an open hat to be choked by a closed hat i put them on the last two pads which go to separate tracks each other. but when i now mute the closed hat track, it still chokes the open hat and doesnt play it to the end as it should be, because the closed hat is not actually muted - only its output track is. this really sucks as im used to other drumcomputers that have mide-remote for muting (like nearly everyone).
would save much time and space on the screen too. come on abletons, this should be no big deal.

i made a chain of 8 scales which mutes each midi note individual. now i just have to assign the scale on/off buttons to my midi controller.
finally, it works. 8)
