audio goes bonkers when previewing

Dear All,

a new convert to the Live fold and I have a problem. I have looked on the forum but can't find my particular problem.

I have been using FL studio prior to live so I am importing some wavs made in FL studio.

I have exported them as wavs 32 bit floating. I close FL studio down and open up Live. When I go to preview the wav the sound goes bonkers and the neighbours start complaining. I am using an audigy 2 ZS platinum and haven't any problems. It is a 24 / 96 card and i'm using the asio drivers. Sometimes I have to reboot or resave the wavs in Beatcreator and that tends to sort it out. I have got my Live audio settings to 96000.

Although I can export to 32 bit floating should I export from FL studio in 16 bit to solve the probelm and if I do will I loose some of the sound quality.

Sorry if this is a common problem but I have wanted live for 2 years now and so want to get this sorted asap.

Thanks in advance for any help given.

Cheers Cosy Pete

i noticed some weird sounds the other day whilst previewing files that werent at 16 bit. you will loose some sound quality, but 44.1khz / 16 bit is still the standard for CD.

give it a try.

thanks Justin

Dear justin,

thanks for that. I will give it a go. I did think that Live accepted 32 bit files but perhaps it will accept only 24 or 16. FL only export 32 or 16.

Worth a try.
