Beta 5.2b9 - Stutters and crashes

I'm getting lots of audio stutters and glitches in 5.2b9 - just from moving the mouse around or opening plug-ins in the directory or doing other stuff like reading the forum while working on a song or clicking outside of the program (like on the desktop)

plus the program has crashed twice since install Saturday afternoon - once while turning the metronome on and off and another on opening the program

I'm using a

PC AMD 3200+ w/ 1.5 gigs of ram and a 7200 hd
Windows XP (home version)

FYI I think 5.2b9 has the worse performance - they've been getting progressively worse - I hope we're are no where near the final release (hate to hate but that's what's happening on my end)

thanks

Hi Adonis,

Could you please send me the log.txt file that should be your Preferences folder ?
Also, if this happens with one set in particular, could you send me that set, without the samples ?

Thanks.
Best,

Amaury

No problem about timing. Here it is 10 PM !

No, not the Preferences file, but the log.txt located in the Preferences folder.

Have a good day of work,

Hi, I get those things too, a lot of dropouts in Live while opening e-mails in Mozilla and other basic stuff.
Well, I thought it was my wasted InternetXp,
as on my Music XP it runs without a problem while in session,
but I get glitches and dropouts while playing back the recorded session in arrangement.
I´ll send you the text file and the set if you want.

Greetings

How do I get to the log.txt on my PC - not quit sure, I'm sitting in front of the PC now

thanks

You asked for a copy of the ableton file without the samples - so just the file correct even though it'll say this is not located etc etc?

I'm doing this now

but someone help me find the log.txt thanks

On PC go to C: Documents & settings/user/application data/Ableton/Live5b9/preferences.
There you should find the log.txt file.

Hi,

So did you find the log file ? Serotoninsteve gave you the right path.
For the set, yes, just the als, that will allow me to see what's inside.
And please write about your setup, soundcard and all as a reminder in your mail.
Thanks,

Amaury

i have a strange feel of b9 too.
i had real problems with it (stuttering and so) when i first installed it, but i guess it was because of a midi loopback.

it's been behaving better lately, but i don't know, it doesn't feel right.

sorry about the "feel" reporting instead of "bug" reporting....

i noticed more D activity than in other versions though.
