Hi folks,

we just released the native intel-mac supporting & bug fix update Live 5.2

You can get it via the download section of our website www.ableton.com/download
or use the 'Check for Updates...' command from Live's help menu.

A very BIG thanks to all people participating on the 5.2 beta period!
We got a lot of feedback and I did not yet managed to answer all mails
sent but I will try again to catch up some in the next days.

To get an overview what is fixed within Live 5.2 please follow
the link of the last beta announcement:
http://www.ableton.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=36859

Because of the lack of available ReWire capable applications
and existing 2.4 VST plug-ins we still expect compatibility problems on
the intel-mac platform. But we will monitor the situation and if we will run into these kind of problem we will
take care but we also want to accommodate to the big numbers of users asking to get
a final Live 5.2 release.

Kind Regards,
Alex

Note to all Live 5.2 beta users:
Please keep in mind that the final Live 5.2
version copies the preferences from the last final Live version
but not from any Live 5.2 beta version.

Hi daniel,

I already replied to your question in http://www.ableton.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=36859.
it is because Logic 7.2 does not yet provide support for ReWire on the Intel-Mac platform.

regards,
/Alex

I'm running Mac OS X 10.4.6, and have the following error on an iMac G5 and a MacBook Pro. Upon installing the Live 5.2 Upgrade, and attempting to run Live I get an error message stating that:

"An error occurred while reading "/Users/steve/Library/Preferences/Ableton/Live 5.2/Preferences.cfg". Apparently, the document was created with a more recent, and incompatible version of Live than this. [unkown class "DirectIoDevice" found]"

Is there a fix for this?

many thanks,
