hey
if i leave a set that i am working and go off to do something else for a short while - more often than not - when i come back and hit play again - a lots buzzing and cracking sound is playing along too...
on rare occassions it will happen if i stop everything and stat again say 30 seconds later
this happens be it a set with imported songs in for dj-ing or a set where i have recorded the sampes and making my own tracks etc etc
im djing tonight - dont want this to occur
cheers

I remember this used to happen in early versions of 5, or was it 4. What version do you have ?

i have 5.0
i was wondering if it is a dodgy vst - im not using any vst's in the set that this is occuring in - but will a dodgy vst present in the vst folder affect the set anyways??

don't think so
try loading your set in the latest version (5.2) and see what happens

Sounds like you're getting swapped out to disk.
Do you have other stuff running besides Live?

Swapped out to disk? What does that mean?

I have had the same problem and traced it to my USB mixer/card (Behringer BCA). I have to literally unplug and then plug straight back in!!! Nightmare
Still it only happens once or twice a set...... that's liveable init!??

If you start using a good bit of your memory, Windows will start using the hard drive as "virtual memory". Moving data onto and off the disk instead of using RAM memory is slow.
Figure out how to monitor your memory usage. Easiest is the "Task Manager" or whatever it's called.
