SNOBS vs. ABLETON LIVE

I usually don't bother complaining about things, but I'm getting pretty P****D OFF with the snobbery of certain engineers I've met, SLAGGING off Live when it's obvious they haven't even tried it. They tend to be engineers/producers who are using other major sequencers particularly ones only available to the Mac. I've used them all & yes they are all excellent, but live just speeds up the production process. DON'T go SLAGGING LIVE, GROW UP & MAYBE EVEN TRY IT OUT, B4 TELLING MORE PEOPLE IT'S SUCKS.

amen to that. i've also tried most of the hosts/sequencers out there (pc only tho) but none of them is as fun and inspiring as live.

every night, before i got to bed i pray the cpu issues will be solved. i'll be one happy camper when it's so.

I whole heartedly agree, I switched to live from DP. Too many features I don't use and not enough cool features that make the writing process quicker. I think the editing could be setup a little better in Live, but it also might be me thinking more like the other Daw's make you think, sometimes going to far into menus and the way they want you work.

Why get pissed? We all know the truth and that is that Live is superior in most of the ways that count in comparison to the other products. The vain posturing that some of these elitist wannabes do just shows how stupid they are.

I've used pretty all of the major DAWs except for MOTU DP; they all have their advantages. Personally, I think that Pro Tools and Cubase yield a better sound but as affore-mentioned, actual creativity/production is expontentially easier and more inspiring in L5. Even though I'll be doing final track cleanup in pro tools or CSX3, that doesn't mean that L5 sucks. It's honestly the most integral, important program I own; the only program that feels like an instrument.

Having used most - minus Digital Performer, Live works for me. I think it's just a matter of how your brain works. It makes sense for me to make clips in session view (have them there for a different section or two in the arrange)

i got that drag and drop tab thing down

but not everyones brain works the same and instead of just saying, that program doesn't work for me - they hate on it as if everyone should be like them

I don't care for people like that

Every time I start talking music with one of my coworkers he asks 'Have you checked out Sonar 5 yet?' (or whatever the fuck release it's at). Me: 'No man, I'm an Ableton guy'. He just goes on and on about Sonar, telling me how awesome it is and that I should pick it up, he just doesn't get it. This has literally been going on for YEARS. Another coworker does the same thing, but with Pro Tools.

I'm getting that Live tattoo, right in the middle of my forehead right above where it says "poor impulse control."

Caught me on that one. One of the best books I've ever read, it's begging to be made into a movie.

Noooo don't let them make it into a movie!

Staring Orlando Bloom as Hiro Protagnonist and Natalie Portmann as Y.T , the love of his life!

A Joel Silver movie

first thing to hit the cutting floor - lose all this techno babble, and all this shit about Sumerian Mythology. Bring in a cute pooch and a black guy who can die to save his old buddy!
