Okay the question is:
If you want to be creative, you may use Abletons Chop Up techniques...in which clips do you prefer to divide your songs, for example:
1. Make each phrase clip (for example, you chop every 16bars)
2. Or you chop up your songs buy parts: intro, build-up, breakdown etc
3. Or maybe another way? (only vocals, hoops, catchy sounds etc.)

it completely depends on the tune.

some tunes simply dont want to be chopped into loops, maybe they have an upbeat into a vocal line, in which case i would just let that tune run into the original song.

other tunes i cut every 16 bars, maybe more maybe less.

i think the key is to cut the tunes up specifically so you can use them, and then to have each clip coloured and named so there can be no confusion as to what each clip does.

for example, clip colour tells me what section of a song / type of instruments are used (yellow=acapella , red =introduction), the using symbols like "!" or "......" i can leave messages for myself about how the clip should be used.

at first it seems complicated, but as soon as you have learnt the new language its a sinch.

what i usually do is i seperate the songs by leads/basses/drums. I don't really touch the full song while it's playing, but when i get to the intro and outro, i extend the songs and create really interesting stuttering, repeating, backspinning, etc mixes. I'll also drop the beat of the next song while the song before has a vocal break or lead break.

And how do you isloate leads from for example drums? Or you mean chopping sections (phrases) with leads, basses, drums
