Are any of these specs completely outrageous for Live performance/audio production? Don't wanna drop toooooo much cash on this beast.

MacBook Pro - Intel Core Duo
100GB Serial ATA drive @ 7200 rpm
2.0GHz Intel Core Duo
2GB 667 DDR2 - 2x1GB SO-DIMMs

Thanks!

I'm also taking the macbook pro plunge within the week.
I live richly but am poor financially. Since I live hand-to-mouth, I really think it would be in my best interest to not get the stock 2.0 and get the stock 1.83 and in a month, get some memory.
I'm in dire need of an upgrade for both personal and work reasons.
Think I should go for it or think I should wait? I'm having trouble making this decision and I've got these guys :D  trying to sway my brain this way and that.
The way I see it, whatever I buy will put my 1ghz powerbook in its place.

new ibooks are due out shortly.... word on the street is that they might come in black, and maybe two more colors besides white.

and they'll be called MacBooks (without the "Pro")

unfortunately they'll probably have the same GPU as the Mini.

it looks like the MacBook Pro's are mimmicking the iMacs
and the MacBooks (iBooks) , the Mini's..

they'll be 13 inch widscreen.

i think they'll be very nice and a great option for those not wanting to drop the serious cash on the macbook pro's.

Thanks for the feedback guys!

Have any links about this "Macbook"? That may be worth putting this whole decision on hold...

no real links to show besides rumors. if you want those jay posted them

the only thing that is for certain is that they will be out shortly and they will sport 13inch widescreens. you can also count on them being at price points below the lowest macbook pro but higher than mac minis.

i'd also guess that the speeds will be 1.6 duel and 1.83 duel

possibly a single core in there as well.

Arg...

Well I think in this day and age that at any point in time, there will always be something faster/cheaper three months down the line...

I'm gonna stick with the first half of this thread and do it! :P

Unless someone has a solid argument against spending three grand on the specs I posted...
