Record clip on scene launch stops other clips in scene

Hi,

I am trying to build scenes, by arming tracks successively, and relaunching the scene. When I launch the scene, the armed track starts recording a new clip, but the clips already in the scene stop, resulting in me recording with no backing. When I hit the scene launch button again, hoping for the whole scene to play, with my new clip, all the clips in the scene play except the one I just recorded. Whenever, I hit the scene launch it just toggles between these two states. If I select another scene, then come back to the scene in question, all clips in my scene then play.

How do I record a fresh clip (using record on scene launch, as I am using a pedal controller) onto a scene, whilst retaining playback of the other clips and then launcing the newly recorded clip in conjunction with the rest of the scene?

This is driving me nuts, what am I doing wrong?

Michael

Just to clarify.

Imagine you are trying to record a three part vocal harmony in a scene. You start by arming track 1, launch your scene and singing a C for one bar, you press your button again and hopefully your bar of C is now looping. Now you disarm track 1 and arm track 2, you hit the pedal which is assigned to the scene launch and you sing a bar of E, whilst the C you recorded on track 1 is playing. You hit the scene button again and both clips are now playing together, you then disarm track 2 and arm track 3... continuing to build up the scene.

My problem is that when I get to launching the scene, so that I can record track 2, the clip on track 1 stops (or if other tracks are recorded all of them seem to stop), after I have recorded the clip on track 2 and relaunch the scene, track 1 plays back but not track 2, if I launch it again, track 2 play but not track 1.

I hope you get what I'm talking about.

Sorry guys figured it out

Well Michael, to answer your question,

It appears that you had the launch mode set to toggle, resulting in clips turning on and off with each respective hit, therefore when you toggled track 2 to record, you toggled track 1 off. The toggles for the track were out of sync with each other, hence the problem.

Go to preferences/ misc and change launch mode to trigger. This will solve your problem.

Now go and spank yourself 50 times for making such a stupid mistake, and having the audacity to post it on the forum for all to see! You numbskull!
