STFU Glasgow - Netaudio in the Real World [hc162]
This documentary follows the STFU Glasgow music festival, featuring concert footage, visuals and interviews with many of the participating musicians. In six chapters the film explores various aspects of contemporary electronic music production and distribution, with an emphasis on the democratization of the music production tools and the Internet as a space for distribution and communication.
STFU is an international non-profit collective of musicians, netlabels and promoters who organize concerts of electronic and experimental music. After successful events in Manchester, Glasgow and Leeds, STFU now travels to the European mainland and beyond: For 2006, events are planned in Boston, Chester, Helsinki and Weimar.
Artists and Netaudio activists featured and/or interviewed in this film include Jonathan Fisher (Hippocamp), David Newman (Audiobulb), Move D (Source Records), DNCN, Phasic and many more.
