I have only recently switched from Digital Performer to Live....and now my world of recording if finally perfect. Ableton Live:

-has a VERY high fun factor compared to many other DAWs
- is VERY quick and easy to learn
-has a great interface that is not hampered by loads of crap unlike so many DAWs

everytime I try to do something that I think of...it just works immediatly the way I think it should.

Live is so perfect...I think Im gonna cry....maybe I have had too many beers.

midi recording has never been this easy!!!!

Im an ableton user for LIFE!!!!

hats off to these genius germans! :D

Okay my New found Live friend,I just want to give you a heads up on the Live DP thing........I have been using Live since the beginning and dp for about 7 yrs.... I will say that I still have not got my head around the entire dp system. I use it Live with video and to do most of my recording. Until my partner and I started to do our cd we wanted to try the ease of use from Live to keep things moving....well did the ideas ever flow. Like you said think and it shall be done. Well as we speak I have been doing clean up on all the tracks( 3monthes of capturing and recording parts -in Live.._.totally fun! But the downside has seemed to hit when editing drum tracks and all of the grouping features and cudstomizable workspace seems to dissapear. I think it's all about capturing the moment and Live lets you do it like were playing with lego.. The way music should be. If you know dp then your in for a treat because you can rewire Live in to dp and then use it as a loop and sample builder with dp controlling it giving dp the elastic audio of Live! Have fun and if your about to go from Live to a big studio to mix properly hit me back cause I have some cooltricks for you. Were in on Mon and then I will be back to tracking for my drum show cd.....
Later
