came upon another monitor? what exactly can i do with duals?

i just got a laptop so i have my old monitor from my desktop laying around, how do i use it with live? is there a way i can have live in one screen and my plugs in the other and if so how do i do it? thx for any help guys

just plug it in the socket in the laptop that it fits in (there only one). Then, right click inthe destop(in windows) and click properties, then click the setings tab, then, if your video card supports it, you should have 2 choices in the display drop down menu. Chouse the second one, then click the 'extendend my desptop' check box. That should do it.\

you may need to tweak a bit the resolution of the external screen, like in my case, if you have a "strange" resoultion (on my lappie I have 1400x1050) but you can have the two screen with two different resolutions.
You'll love it -live on one screen and all the plugs on the other.. as soon as you'll get used to dual monitor setup it will be a pain to go back to the single.
