MPC 2000 xl and Live

Hello All,
I'm trying to record audio from my mpc into live via a m audio firewire 1814. I'm getting a signal through the speaker but when i hit the record button in live nothing happens. I armed the track but I don't see the signal going through. Any Suggestions
