different beat signatures in one song, loose a few beats?

I have a track (arrangment) in which I loose 2 beats in a break - don't ask me why, it simply sounds good this way. The next bar starts at the 3rd beat of the previous one - which is the 1st of the next one.

Not realy a problem (although I have to set the grid at 1/2), except that after the break I can no longer launch clips from clip view that are singronized with the beat (a plain 4/4 beat). They start at the 3rd beat instead of the 1st.

Is it possible to have one bar of 2 beats in an arrangement, and all others of 4, or to simply cut 2 beats, so ableton knows where the ONE of the next bar is (that is, that the 3rd beat of the first bar is in fact the 1st of the next?

Unfortunatlely, there is no easy way to change time signatures within Live. Maybe sometime in the distant future (Live 25?) we'll get this very simple yet elusive feature.

Has anyone found a way to deal with this? Are we missing something obvious?

I've got quite a few tracks that have a break that is only 2 beats long.

Haven't tried this, but what if you left those 2 beats (3 and 4) empty while working in session view, then when editing in arrangment view you simply cut that time? I'll do some experimenting.

Aren't you able to do some of these things by changing the time signature and quantization of each clip?
