KORE is here in the UK. Dunno about rest of the world. Should be though.

Bought it from www.dv247.com (Digital Village UK) for £369.99

Was lucky to spot this on their website this morning (kinda thought it was only gonna be available from the 8th May 06)

Haven't even installed it yet - about to though. Can't wait. This thing fixes all bloody problems I've had in the past with absolute/relative cc, preset saving, hardware control of software synth (and coming back in 2 weeks and things look how you left them), DAW independent behaviour, fine resolution (compared to the usual 127 steps) and it's own LCD/controls for full navigation. A winning product from the word Go.

It's tiny too, not difficult to find space for it.

In addition, it's a dedicated VST host. So, you could run those crazy Native Instruments CPU hog Reaktor ensembles and not drain your computer's performance.

I'm looking forward to the review myself, but from what I've read on their site (and watched in their riduclous yet very informative video) it sounds pretty damn cool.

OK, I started an explanation, then realized it's all on the NI site, so go there. Watch the video to get a good overview, then read the chapters on the site. It sounds especiall great Live performance. If the built in audio interface is any good I'll definitely be up for it -- I need a new one, it's USB2.0 -- everything else would be a nice bonus if it sounds good! Anybody use "guitar rig"? If so, how does it sound for audio input? I'm guessing that would be something like the audio input on Kore...

One other thing -- it uses OSC (open sound control) as well as having MIDI. Means much higher resolution. If only all hardware manufacturers would add it to their products...so far almost all OSC implementation has been in software (with a few exception).

yay.. N.I. made a controller that really dont do much more than the nobs on any midi controller, and they made some software that will host vsti's just like any other daw can do.. and i can save presets.. wow i will be able to do what i can already do but with a new interface... this doesnt reek of gimmick at all!!!!!!

Half correct- while the knobs have better than 4x the resolution of typical MIDI controllers, that has nothing to do with OSC (even though it will come in handy when using OSC). OSC isn't part of the Kore package yet; it's scheduled as an addition in a later update along with making the Kore controller able to function as a generic MIDI controller for use with things besides Kore.

As far as sound quality goes, I'm able to run mine at 2 ms (4 ms total in and out) without any issues. I'm using it as the main interace for Live, Sonar and Reason and all my standalone synths as well as using it with Kore.
