sod that man, $149!!!! go to www.ucapps.de, hit the wiki link & got to 'where to order components', at the bottom of the page there is a link to Mike's PCB Shop and SmashTV's websites where you can buy packs to make your own midi controller. Thats just a rip off.

actually, for many things the Miditron can't be beat. The form-factor and the battery supply makes it perfect for quite a few applications.

Compared to what? Find me another cigarette-pack sized diy midi controller and we'll talk, eh?

Personally I wouldn't buy one. I'd go here instead:

since both seem to be single user sites, I'd say both are fairly priced for what they do.

is similar and $100 cheaper but with less inputs. there are lot of diff options for midi interfaces. i am a huge fan of ucapps. if you want quick and easy yours or the the adafruit one would be a good way to go. if you want the whole thing. ucapps for sure.

during the first year or two, i was eroktronix biggest customer! i agree it's the best bang for the buck. if you have more time to kill, maybe the ucapps is for you. but if you want to start with a fully functional brain and just start building your frankenstein from the neck down, miditron is the way and the light.

I have the Wireless MidiTron and I have work with it with Max/Msp/Jitter. I trying to get it to work with Live 7. I see that I'm getting midi signals from the Miditron to Live but I can't trigger a sound.

you just need to make sure you know what your sending from the miditron, is it CC or Note messages? also make sure that Live is listening to that port for midi remote messages. I use the wireless tron for in an 8 channel mixer/mute/solo box for Live and it works great.
