Here's my situation.

There is a part in one of my audio clips that I am not pleased with, and I want to re-record it. (So far, so good). From reading the manual, I have figured that the only way to do so is to use the loop function with the punch in/out buttons enabled, so it would record the designated section, and loop to record it again, and again, until I press stop.

The product of this is that if I want to figure out which take is best, I have to undo/redo each take.

My question is, is there a way for each take to be automatically given it's own track or clip while recording, so that each time the recording loops back, ithe product is committed to a different clip/track?

no, i don't think so.

as a workaround, possibly copy the other tracks during this section to another unused part of the arrangement (after your song end) - then loop THOSE tracks for several repetitions, by using the duplicate command

then you can record on the new track several times through and have it all in one long take. then copy/paste the best one back into the original arrangement, and delete all the extra stuff from your temporary recording area.

not ideal but it could work and is not too difficult.

if there is a lot of automation etc which would complicate matters, you could resample the section and then drag that new clip elsewhere.
