time in seconds instead of beats.

call me dum. i've never really felt the need to find this out doing 5 minute tracks but this week, i have to. i'm doing a dj mix in ableton so i have to find out what time i am in the track.
short of just sitting there with a stopwatch - is there a way to find this out?

oh yes, please. SMPTE.
but then here we go again, live is a very beautifull apps i like and use a lot, but it's certainly not a professionel one.

I'd like a clock feature in session view too
When recording live sets I have to tab into arranger view then scroll along while still recording to see roughly how long i have been mixing for.
havent looked but maybe there is 3rd party plugin to do this ?
I used Fruity Loops before switching to Live 4 and there was internal plugin in that called "big clock" - be nice to have somethin similar in live

wonder if there is a vst plugin for this that maybe has a little window you could leave up with a running clock....I"m sure someone here has the skills to make one...but not me. I sympathize though, I perform live with the session view, and also rewire FL Studio which has a running clock, which is good to keep track of how long a song has gone on and when I need to move on.

no missunderstanding, here.
what i mean is that a pro apps in my humble opinion have to have certain features, like SMPTE, Video Support, abbility to save or record as more file types then wave, aiff or mp3, abbility to create either a original copy of an audio or midi file or an alias, automatic repeat of copys in the arrange, and so on... the list of what ableton can't and a pro apps should have as a minimum standard is pretty damn long, that doesn't mean that live is bad in any form... except the all to often discussed CPU effiency, it's a very fine application, but as i said a pro apps has to have all those functions and many, many more...
that's all i mean.

Compared to other DAWs, live has some definite shortcomings... but i see 6 improving here, where as 5 made improvements from previous versions as well. I don't even open up Pro Tools anymore... I plan on it though, should be fun on a new computer!
