how 2 use program change with lives vst or vsti like impulse

sometimes, like quite everytimes, i need to change my program into impulse, to change my beat box for example, something easy to do with any sampler, but impossible with live 5 
...it's hard to find program change numbers with some vst/vsti but it's worth with any ableton vst because it does'nt work!!! how is it possible!?!?!
please, can you help me?
