can someone in the Headquarters explain to me why Wacom tablets are not supported by Live?
it's requested a zillion times but I never heard a proper (theoretical) answer..
Is there a chance that it will be supported one day?
please, please.. an answer..

you don't have to promise anything,
just a simple explanation why it's not supported at the moment..

Hello Poster,
Wacom tablet´s do not work in Live because of Live´s GUI knob/faders etc. behavior. It´s on the list but i can´t promise yet if or when this will happen.
The Wacom should work with Live if you switch it to "relative" mode, see this page for instructions:

Hi Poster,
hi Christian,
thanx for the answer.
I´ve a quite similar question,
on my Synaptics Touchpad I´ve a function to scroll, on the right (for up down) and on the bottom (for left right), it´s not working in Live too.
I´ve luck and have a scrollwheel on the pad (but most laptops don´t have that now) wich helps a lot for navigating (combined with ctrl), but otherwise I had always to grab the damn scrollbar with the pointer.
Is that the same problem or is there something you can do in the next future?
Greetings

unfortunately the knobs and fader's behavior is pretty erratic even in relative (mouse) mode...
strange... ALL the lo-fi cheapo nerdy freebies i downloaded from dontcrack.com can be easily manipulated with a wacom tablet - which to me proves that there is no need for superprogrammers to instaure a special "wacom tablet support"...
i was wondering why is Live's knobs and faders behavior so different than everyone else's?
anyone got a technical explanation for this???
thanx
Ben

Right, since the last driver update from wacom, even relative mode doesn't work.
why o why, a tablet is truely a blessing, it's so much more efficient, not having to push around a pointer but let the pointer follow your hand. Having the tablet sense the pen if it floats above the tablet without the tip touching the surface, touching it to make a click, this is almost like pointing with your finger onto the screen and touching the screen to perform a click.
Not to mention that it could then be used with a Cintiq Monitor/Tablet

Live would be the perfect app if it supported a tablet.
Please do it, please.

tablet to midi has nothing to do with interacting directly with the live interface.
i've worked with a cintiq before in many programs including cubase. it really is a dream come true. for ableton to not support this is a big proffessional gap i feel.
and "relative" mode is not what a tablet was designed to do, not mention you can't use that with a cintiq.

I'd like to see this: when I use the mouse on my Graphire tablet, the knobs act just like they do when I use a normal mouse. That'd be a great start. As it is, I go to the trackpad in Ableton Live because the Graphire's mouse makes the knobs go crazy.
