from another board:
""take the last song 'vignette tres' and put in front of 'songs for marie' on a playlist...
then play this at the same time as you play the single 10k days from a different player...
it syncs up into a mega song
vignette tress is latin for 23...the number for synchronicity"

if you want to listen to it.
I did it in Live real quick. it sounds awesome. Here is the Live pict. Notice the waveforms that line up.
Genius. I wonder if the recorded this as one track and then took pieces out so it would work as seperate tracks? Awesome.

I heard about it before, but hadn't had a chance to try it because I don't have the CD (and refuse to pirate it). Sounds really cool even though I haven't heard the tracks on their own.

I has to be intended. the way the tracks complement each other and how everything syncs when you play it all the way through - it just can't be by accident.
I've bounced the above arrangement down into one song and it sounds phenomenal. Its rich, deep and layered.
So rad.

it sounded all right i guess, i'd have to hear the individual tracks.
it's interesting that they did this though. i've heard of stuff like this before (for example, i believe the band Neurosis put out two discs years ago that could be played simultaneously to be heard as one album. someone else did it recently as well.), i don't think i've seen it done with certain tracks on one album though like they've done here. very cool.

I respectfully disagree. That Aphex Track was totally left-field.This seems not very ground breaking to me, though powerfully clever. I look forward to hearing this though!
I had a listening party once for the Flaming lips Zeurika(?) 4-disc set. Ear candles and everything.
It was the bomb.
Edit- This track is sick.

Now, you guys sure they didn't just run heinously short of material, and decide to bust out a coupla different mixes of that "over-dense" song they used up all their time on?

What's the proper way to see the Aphex Twin face? I think I saw a nose in Inspector, but maybe I wanted to see a nose.

er.. I tried this and it only syncs up for some bits... For the whole of the verginti tres track, yeah fine it works to a degree, but its not hard to do that... its just ambience over the wings for marie 2 track... but from the start of wings for marie part 1, until near the end, it doesn't really gel... fair enough the end bits sync, but they are virtually the same anyway.... am I doing this wrong??
edit: just saw your mp3, listened to it... yep I was doing it right. Sorry guys, this sounds pretty crap to be honest?? The ambience bits are actually a bit out of time with the main track. There's major clashes towards the ends of the heavy bits... must try harder???
BTW... the album is great though. I've been listening to it non-stop.

yes, you are probably doing it wrong.
There is a few minutes at the end of the segment (where both tracks are playing) and there is drums, guitar, and singing, on BOTH tracks.
And they are completely in sync.
If you did it Live like I did (without warping) it totally works.
I have a 320 Kbps on my site. PM me if you want the link.
