The wrong midi-in light is lit when using the sliders. I expect the midi-map light but instead get the track light. When pressing normal keyboard keys assignments are made as expected. The Remote option is enabled for both of the Motif midi ports.

I can map the knobs, but only when the remote-control button on the motif is off and the knobs are set to 'pan' or something. The sliders still cannot be mapped. I can record a midi loop and and slider changes are recorded as volume events - so the sliders are sending volume midi events.

It really comes down to this question: If Live can see the incoming midi data why can't it make a remote control assignment?

Oh, and the transport, solo and track select buttons send midi data but can't be assigned either. These are less important but equally annoying.

I'm probably going to elevate this to a direct email to Ableton, but here's a bit more information.

Using MidiMonitor I can confirm that the Motif is sending the following (completely reasonable) midi messages:

So Live should be able to map 'em.

Well, imagine that: User error. As always, I figure it out after sending an email. The Motif transmits all controller messages on midi port 3 (as listed in my midi debug output). I only had remoting turned on for port 1 and 2; port 3 was hidden and I needed to scroll down to see it.
