Hello everyone,
This is maybe a stupid question, but i'm a beginner with ableton...
I want to play the songs that i've made, in a +- 1hour set...Do I have to load all my samples in the session view or how do I arrange everything?
I have a novation x station 49.. so midicontrolling is no problem.. But the only thing i don't know is how I set up my set... Can anyone help me please? maybe with a print screen so I can see it myself...
Thx

Do you just want to play whole songs back-to-back, or mix specific elements (Drums/bass/synths/percussion, etc, etc...)?
If you want to mix whole tracks back-to-back, you're gonna need to render each composition to disk. Select the whole time range in arrange view, ensure all tracks are routed to "Master", and select Render to disk from the file menu. You can then drag all of these rendered songs into session view and play 'em out.
If you want to mix elements from each track in the set, you'll just need to create a sensible folder heirachy for each tune, drag the elements into session view and trigger the individual clips...
There are a million other things you can do during your 1 hour set...

I want to mix the specific elements... So you mean I have to load every sample i made in the left column? and always drag it to ,for example, audio 1 , audio 2, ...?
Is there anywhere a movie where i can see other people how they use ableton for live sets?
Thx for your quick reaction and for helping a collegue

You don't need to drag every clip into the Session View one at a time - you can just drag the whole folder into a track (ie - audio 1, audio 2). Or you can just CTRL+click on the clips you want to load and drag 'em all in to a track together.

I'm soon to play a Live set with original music in Ableton and using hardware. I have some tracks that are prewritten that I plan on disecting those tracks with submixes if you will. The bass will be premastered and then resampled so I can free up CPU and then just have a EQ and maybe a delay on that track and so on with the other submixes like synths I might SEQ out some and play others LIVE on the fly. I mean it seems easier to have the track laid out in Arrang view and that gives you a timeline of each track and go back and forth to Arr. and Sess. view. I've seen some artist like STS9 SEQ. out tracks in Arr. view. What will key for a live original set will be having things premastered so that the sound quality is their and you don't have to use so many Plugin's. I use Ozone 3 to master all my mixes and submixes so this really beefs up my sound. But its very CPU intense.

I tried it and I think that it's ok now but with +-50 midi-samples my pc runs slow... Will it work faster when I resample everything? And after the resampling do i have to remove the original midi-samples?
