Hi, I'm new to Ableton and I hope some of you gurus can help.

I'm trying to read in a number of MP3 or WAV files that represent different tracks recorded by our band (created on a Boss digital multitrack recorder). All the files are the same size and when read into Adobe Audition they are all in sync. However, when I read them into Ableton, it seems like lots of the "silent bits" at the start/end are removed. For example, where a guitar solo comes in after 2 minutes, that track should have 2 minutes of silence and indeed it doesn when you just play the track on its own with Media Player etc. However, the 2 min silence is removed when its read into Ableton. Can I override this and save the hassle of manually resyncing everything?

Okay, after much stress and angst I've discovered that "autowarp" must be switched off when you read in a long track with lots of silence ...

if you want to warp the whole bunch of tracks, the general procedure is to warp the easiest one (like a drum track), and then make as many copies of that warped track as you have total tracks. then use the 'replace' button in the clip view of the copied tracks to insert the remaining original multi-tracks. the warp settings will stay the same, if all the tracks are identical in length
